Wifi Best Practices

Leave the Google Hub set up to us

The Google Hub you have been provided with can be reset to factory settings. As a good measure, do not turn off the Hub unless absolutely necessary or requested during troubleshooting. It is best to leave the set up of the Hub to the Tech. Please contact support if you believe your Hub may need attention.

Check your internet speed and recommendations

It is best to have faster internet speeds, you will want to make sure you have at least 5Mpbs Upload, and 20Mpbs Download. Again, the more the merrier.

If you are experiencing lags with connection make sure to test internet speeds (Both within the “Bellwether labs” network, as well as your own WiFi network)

Make sure any speed tests are done near the roaster, you can test Bellwether labs through the iPad itself, you might want to test your own WiFi using your phone. Any of these can be done by googling “Speed Test”

HotSpot connections can cause Communication Difficulties as well as Network Issues.

Take note of your firewall settings

Having a Firewall Enabled within your own Modem can cause connection issues. Before install, you will need to ensure Bellwether will have access and these details will be included on your site readiness survey. During install the Technician will ensure all is working as expected, however, if you make any changes to your own network, make sure to White List Bellwether labs.
