Troubleshooting – Beans

Beans are coming out hot or not entirely cooled.

When this happens, it is generally caused when there is an obstruction in the airflow thus preventing the beans from cooling down. I highly recommend that you try the following:

  • Clean the pre-filter (The pre-filter can be found on the left-hand side of the Bellwether bucket in the bucket cubby)
  • Try another roast and observe the beans if they are still being released too hot

Beans are dropping prematurely.

This might be happening because there are jammed beans, which is why I highly recommend

power cycling the roaster.

After doing so, please check to see if the bean exit is closed, If it’s closed, you can try another roast. However, If it’s still open after the power cycle, please reach out so can schedule a visit with our Technical Services Team!

Beans came out as a mix of green and roasted beans. What happened?

A common cause of seeing a mix of green and roasted beans is due to the beans getting stuck in the agitator.
